Part 4 The Collector

managed to get a new, well new to me but secondhand collector box from the bay of e, turned up yesterday and I'm very happy with it, gonna treeat it to a bit of rust prevention then a spray up of some high temp paint and it'll be good to go.

It came with the front header pipes and a stainless link pipe, won't need that unless I decide to fit something aftermarket and fruity like a Tyga Maggot, or the like.

Just need the exhaust bolts and some new gaskets now.

Not gonna get the stainless one made now, this should last a few years.

More to come....

Part 3 No going back now!

more bits are coming off!!!

one seriously fucked collector

Just need to drop the engine now, managed to remove the rest of the front header pipes, need to get some new studs as the ones that were in had rusted, good enough for the bin.

Drained all the fluids ready for a refresh. Fun, Fun, Fun

More to come...
Part 2

So while the pegs were off I sat and looked at the sub frame and thought that looks a bit scabby so...

off it came

Good sand down, prime and paint the same colour as the rear sets

Tank off

Thats it for now.

Question, do I take the shock out while I'm here and clean and check it etc, or should I wait till I drop the engine to sort the exhaust?

More to follow.....

Honda VFR400 NC24 spruce up

Part 1

My NC24 needs a bit of a tart up and some things fixing so I figured I'd start a thread to chart the progress, jobs planned are

New stainless collector box
Powder coat the rear wheel
Fit new front wheel
New discs and pads
New brake lines
New dzus fasteners
Sort the plastics and clips
Clean up the rear sets
Oil, filter and coolant change

And generally give it a bit of TLC.

So here he is sat in the garage waiting
To start with I figured do an easy job so its off with the rear sets

Good sand down

Then a prime and paint in a nice colour

and a polish of the pegs
